2. Use of Cookies

Cookies are also stored on your device when using our website. Cookies are small text files assigned to your browser and stored on your hard drive, through which certain information is transmitted to the party that sets the cookie (in this case, us). Cookies cannot run programs or transmit viruses to your computer. They serve to make the overall internet experience more user-friendly and effective.

a) This website uses cookies to the following extent:

  • Transient cookies (temporary use)

  • Persistent cookies (time-limited use)

  • Third-party cookies (from third-party providers)

  • Flash cookies (persistent use)

b) Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. These include session cookies that store a session ID, allowing various requests from your browser to be assigned to a common session. These cookies are deleted once you log out or close your browser.

c) Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified duration, which may vary by cookie (up to a maximum of 7 days). You can delete these cookies at any time via your browser’s security settings.

d) You may configure your browser settings as you wish and, for example, refuse third-party or all cookies. Please note that doing so may limit the functionality of this website.

e) Flash cookies are not captured by your browser but by your Flash plug-in. These store necessary data independently of the browser and do not have an automatic expiry date. If you do not wish to allow Flash cookies, you must install a suitable add-on, such as "Better Privacy" for Mozilla Firefox or "Adobe-Flash-Killer-Cookie" for Google Chrome.

Stored cookie information is kept separate from any other data provided to us and is not linked to your other personal data.

This cookie policy was created and updated by CookieFirst.com.

3. Use of Web Analytics and Search Engine Advertising

Google Analytics – Right to Object

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”.

Information generated by cookies about your use of this website is typically transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. As this website has activated IP anonymisation, your IP address will be truncated by Google within the EU or other parties to the EEA agreement before transmission. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a server in the USA and truncated there.

Google will use this information on behalf of the operator to evaluate website use, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website and internet usage.

The IP address transmitted by your browser via Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. You can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting your browser settings; however, this may restrict full use of all website functions.

You may also prevent Google from collecting and processing data generated by the cookie (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at:
https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

Google Ads

We use the online advertising programme "Google Ads" and the associated conversion tracking. When you reach our website via a Google ad, Google Ads sets a cookie in your browser to help us compile usage statistics. This cookie expires within 90 days and does not personally identify you.

Additional information on conversion tracking and disabling the cookie can be found here:
http://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html

We also use Google Analytics Remarketing Lists to serve targeted ads via the Google Display and Search Network.

4. Integration of Third-Party Services

4.1 Embedding YouTube Videos

(1) Our site includes YouTube videos hosted on www.youtube.com, playable directly from our site. They are embedded in “enhanced privacy mode”, meaning no data is transmitted to YouTube unless you play the video.

(2) YouTube's contact details and privacy policy:
YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA

Our websites and newsletters use social plug-ins for YouTube and LinkedIn. These plug-ins may collect:

  • Information that your browser has accessed the page

  • Your device’s IP address, even if you do not have an account with the provider

If logged in, providers may associate your visit with your account. Interaction (e.g. commenting) will be transmitted and potentially shown on your profile.

SWYN plug-ins for Facebook and LinkedIn allow you to share content from our magazine.
